[edit] Field analysis
These analyses can be carried out in the field to provide quick answers that can be used to guide subsequent excavation and sampling. These also have more accurate laboratory equivalents that should be used in post-excavation analysis where necessary.
- Phosphate analysis
- Soil pH
- Soil colour
- Soil texture and particle size analysis
- Soil moisture
- Carbonate determination
- Magnetic susceptibility
- Organic matter and manganese determination
- Coring
- Bioturbation and worm numbers
- Field test for reducing conditions
More information on laboratory analyses can be found here.
