[edit] Electron Probe Microanalysis

Microscale X-ray analysis linked to scanning electron microscopes (SEMs) allowing the analysis of elemental composition. Is commonly used to analyse artefacts and increasingly is being used to analyse the elemental composition of soil components in thin section.
