[edit] Heave

To displace or move. In geology, the heave is the measure of the horizontal displacement between the upthrown and downthrown sides of a fault. In soils, heave occurs due to the expansion and contraction of slope material caused by wetting and drying, freezing and thawing, temperature changes and burrowing animals.
