Also: Uranium-Thorium dating This dating technique calculates the age of a sample from the degree to which the equilibrium has been restored between thorium-230 and its radioactive parent uranium-234 since the formation of the material. Commonly used to date carbonates and bone, it is particularly useful for the date range of 50,000 - 500,000 years before present.
