[edit] What equipment can the Field Tool be used on?
The programme can be used on a desktop or laptop computer with an internet connection. If the site office is in the field a mobile phone connection to the internet would work. Alternatively, the programme can be downloaded to a computer. More useful on site is the Personnal Digital Assistant (PDA) seen in the image on the right. It is a smaller computer that is a similar size to a mobile phone, and connected in a similar way to the internet.
The SASSA Field Tool will detect which type of device you are operating from and alter the output to suit that device. For example, if it detects you are using a PDA or mobile phone, it will reduce the amount of detail that is sent to you since your network connection is likely to be limited. If you wish to receive a different level of content to that which is being served to you on your current device, you can always override this via the 'View Style' option in the main menu.
