[edit] Interpretation Tool

The interpretation tool consists of a series of questions to help identify the context. It helps identify certain contexts as:

An example of some of the questions a user is asked is shown below for the query on Has this deposit been affected by waterlogging and iron movement (gleying)?. The first image below shows that the first question to be answered Which of these best describes how you might expect water to drain away through this deposit? is highlighted with a red dot beside the question and possible answers are in blue below. The next question Which of these best describes the dominant colour of the soil matrix? will not be highlighted until the first question has been answered. This is shown in the second image where an answer has been made for the first question and now the next question to be answered is highlighted with a red dot. Questions that have already been answered are marked with a green dot. It is possible to return to previous questions and change your answer. As you work through the Interpretation Tool there are often blue information icons Image:information.png beside questions. By clicking on these a page of the Wiki will appear in a new window. This window gives information on providing a standard answer to the question.

Evaluation score
Evaluation score

Depending on your answers to the questions a new set of queries will appear as in the third image above. After completing these you may have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on Continue to return to the original set of questions.

When all of the questions have been answered an evaluation score is given. This can be seen in the image above on the right. The score ranges between 0 and 100. In this example, it gives a 75% likelihood that the deposit has been affected by gleying.

It is possible to clear all the answers to the questions after an evaluation score has been given or during answering the questions by clicking on Clear ALL answers to question near the base of the page.
