[edit] Producing and printing a soil description report

In order to print out a final report of the data entered into the soil description pages a Print Menu button exists in the top right of each page. Clicking on this will bring you to a selection of printing options including the Print Format and the Quantity of Data. The report will only include information from the data boxes that were completed. Therefore, a blank data box will not appear on the report. The Print Format options are:

  • Web Page (HTML) This produces a document similar in appearance to the soil description site where information was inputted.
  • Portable Document Format (PDF) This produces a plain table document but no changes can be made to the information in the table.
  • Rich Text Format (RTF) This produces a plain table document similar to a word file where the information can be changed in the table.

Before producing the soil description report the Quantity of Data options include:

  • Current Page This will only produce the data from the page being viewed before the Print Menu was entered.
  • Sub-Section of Current Site Hierarchy This will allow you to choose which pages you want included in the report by the choice of four options: These include Current Level (indicating the page being viewed before the Print Menu was entered) or Current to 1 Level Below (indicating the page being viwed and the following page e.g. if you entered on the Site Data page this will also include the page on Trench/Section Data. There are further choices here on Current to 2 Levels Below, Current to 3 Levels Below and Current to All Levels Below. The soil property groups are considered, however, as one single level.
  • Current Site This will produce all the data on the site.

The information can then be saved on a computer, disc or sent to a printer.
