Madeira, Portugal.

The purpose of the 9th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS) is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the advances and business applications of information systems. Five simultaneous tracks were held, covering different aspects of Enterprise Information Systems Applications, including Enterprise Database Technology, Systems Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Specification, Internet Computing, Electronic Commerce and Human Factors. SASSA was presented as part of the Decision Support Systems stream.

[edit] 20th June: QUATERNARY ENVIRONMENTS AND THE HUMAN PAST

University of Manchester, UK.

A one day conference hosted by the Quaternary Environments and Geoarchaeology Research Group at The University of Manchester. The day will comprise a series of poster sessions on any theme related to Quaternary environmental change and/or the human past and three 45 minute talks with discussion. The main aim of the day is to bring researchers together in an informal setting to discuss a range of issues and to provide feedback on the poster displays.

[edit] 4-7 September: People/environment relationships from the Mesolithic to the Middle Ages: recent geo-archaeological findings in Southern Italy

Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra of the Federico II University, Naples, Salerno ( Italy )

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the geo-archaeological results that have recently been obtained in this interesting region, focusing in particular on the two parallel - and often interacting - histories of human communities and of the host landscapes during the Holocene.

The aim of the Symposium is to promote the development and use of scientific techniques in order to extract archaeological and historical information from the cultural heritage and the paleoenvironment. It involves all Natural Sciences and all types of objects and materials related with human activity.

In general, papers should deal with the development and/or application of scientific techniques for extracting information related to human activities of the past, including the biological nature of man himself and the environment in which he lived.
