The identification and interpretation of anthropogenic deposits is at the core of archaeology as it is these deposits that allow us to reconstruct past lives and systems of living.

  • Wastes: domestic and industrial
  • Made ground
  • Construction and degradation levels
  • Amended or made soils, such as plaggen, and garden soil
